The Armstrong Atlantic State University
Human Resources Office
provides direct service and specialized
consultation to the administration, management,
faculty and staff of AASU in the following
areas/subject matters: benefits, classification
and compensation, employment opportunities,
labor and employee relations, faculty
and staff hiring, immigration, payroll,
professional development and quality improvement.

Our
Mission
The
Human Resources Department will strive
to play a leadership role and provide
services and information for the
faculty and staff of Armstrong Atlantic
State University by promoting the
concept that our employees are our
most valuable resource and shall
be treated as such. The Office of
Human Resources shall act as a catalyst
for all offices and departments,
enabling all employees to contribute
at optimum levels towards the success
of goals and mission of the total
institution.
This will be accomplished by:
- Ensuring that the staff members of Human
Resources are given the tools, training and opportunities to
operate in the most efficient and effective manner.
- Encouraging the recruitment and promotion
of the most qualified individuals, always recognizing and encouraging
the value of diversity in the university setting.
- Striving to provide a competitive salary
and benefit package to ensure the successful recruitment of
both faculty and staff.
- Providing opportunities for personal
and professional development for the enhancement of all faculty
and staff.
- Providing a work environment which is
safe, healthy, secure and ever conscious of personal, family,
and community needs and goals.
- Establishing, administering and effectively
communicating sound policies, procedures and practices which
will provide all employees with dignity and equality while maintaining
institutional compliance with University System policies, institutional
guidelines and federal and state labor laws.
- With this mission in mind, the Human
Resources Department will provide
the administration of AASU with sound
and competent employment practices
and guidelines which will foster
a spirit of community on campus while
ensuring an optimal environment for
satisfaction and productivity.
