Armstrong Atlantic State
University invites applications for a
tenure-track full-time position at the
rank of assistant professor in the Department
of Middle Grades and Secondary Education
to work at the Armstrong Atlantic State
University Brunswick Center on the campus
of Coastal Georgia Community College.
The appointment will begin August, 2008,
pending budgetary approval.

| Qualifications: |
A doctorate in middle grades or secondary
education or a related field is preferred,
as well as, recent 4-12 teaching experience.
Candidates who are ABD and close to final
defense of the dissertation may also apply.
Preference will be given to the candidate
who has expertise in educational foundations,
curriculum and pedagogy, and clinical
supervision. Department needs are in the
area of Mathematics and Language Arts
education. In addition to providing quality
instruction to students, the successful
candidate will be expected to carry a
service load within the department and
the university as well as be engaged in
scholarly activities involving teacher
candidates.
Employment is contingent upon successful
completion of a background investigation.

The department supports
a baccalaureate degree and an initial certification
master's degree program in middle grades education.
An advanced program in middle grades education
is also supported by this department. All middle
grades education programs are aligned with
the NMSA General Curriculum standards. Post-baccalaureate
programs are available in Middle Grades and
Secondary Education. |

Armstrong Atlantic
State University is a four-year coeducational
senior unit in the University System of Georgia
and has an enrollment of more than 6700 students.
It is located approximately twelve miles south
of the historic district of the city of Savannah
on a modern 268 acre campus. The core mission
of the university is a strong liberal arts
education for all students, and the strategic
directions of the university are applied science
and technology, teacher education, health professions,
and community and economic development. |
