Description: Full time, tenure track assistant professor position will be available at the AASU College of Education Center on the campus of Coastal Georgia Community College in Brunswick, Georgia. The appointment will begin August 2008 pending budgetary approval.
 
Qualifications:

A doctorate in Early Childhood Education or a related content field is preferred, as well as Pre K - fifth grade teaching experience. Candidates who are ABD and close to final defense of the dissertation may also apply. Preference will be given to the candidates who have expertise in instructional technology. In addition to providing quality instruction to students, the successful candidate will be expected to carry a service load within the department and the university as well as be engaged in scholarly activities involving teaching candidates.

The University: Armstrong Atlantic State University is a four-year coeducational senior unit in the University System of Georgia and has an enrollment of more than 6700 students. It is located approximately twelve miles south of the historic district of the city of Savannah on a modern 268 acre campus. The core mission of the university is a strong liberal arts education for all students, and the strategic directions of the university are applied science and technology, teacher education, health professions, and community and economic development.
   
The Community: The Coastal Georgia Community College campus is located on approximately 200 acres of land inside the city of Brunswick. The campus is located near historic Jekyll Island, St. Simons Island and Sea Palms Island. A coastal city rich in beauty, cultural diversity, support for the arts and opportunities for recreation, the college is approximately 10 miles from sandy beaches, and only a mile or so from crabbing, shrimping and saltwater fishing. Its physical environment is one of beautiful natural surroundings including flowering azaleas and camellias, stately pines, and moss-draped oak trees. A near-by lake further enhances the natural environment and beauty. The campus is comprised of 12 buildings and athletic facilities. The college is a community institution with no on-campus residence facilities. CGCC is located approximately 100 miles south of historic Savannah.
