Armstrong Atlantic
State University invites applications for a
tenure-track position at the rank of assistant
professor in the Department of Special and
Adult Education. The appointment will begin
August, 2008, pending budgetary approval. |

| Qualifications: |
A doctorate in special education or a related
field is preferred, as well as, teaching
experience in P-12 settings with students
with disabilities. Candidates who are
ABD and close to final defense of the
dissertation may also apply. Preference
will be given to the candidate who has
expertise in instructional technology
and on-line instruction. In addition to
providing quality instruction to students,
the successful candidate will be expected
to carry a service load within the department
and the university as well as be engaged
in scholarly activities involving teacher
candidates.
Employment is contingent upon successful
completion of a background investigation.

The department supports
a baccalaureate degree, a masters of arts in
teaching initial certification degree program,
an on-line certificate program in special education
general curriculum, as well as, a master's
degree in Special Education and a master's
degree in Adult Education. All special education
programs are aligned with the CEC General Curriculum
standards. |

Armstrong Atlantic
State University is a four-year coeducational
senior unit in the University System of Georgia
and has an enrollment of more than 6800 students.
It is located approximately twelve miles south
of the historic district of the city of Savannah
on a modern 268 acre campus. The core mission
of the university is a strong liberal arts
education for all students, and the strategic
directions of the university are applied science
and technology, teacher education, health professions,
