Armstrong Atlantic
State University invites applications for the
position Clinical Assistant Professor in the
Department of Health and Physical Education.
The appointment will begin August 2008, pending
budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate
classes in health and physical education,
including supervising field and clinical
experiences. Will deliver instruction
in a variety of service-related courses.
Advising health and physical education
majors, committee memberships, and service
to the University are expected.

| Qualifications: |
Advanced degree accepted with an academic
background in pedagogy, and curriculum
and instruction. P-12 experience required
with college experience preferred. Knowledge
and demonstrated use of technology required.
Must be able to teach a variety of service
classes such as yoga, weight training,
racket sports and dance classes. Must
have experience planning and directing
field experiences and internships.
Employment is contingent upon successful
completion of a background investigation.

| The Department: |
The Department of Health
and Physical Education offers a major in health
and physical education (P-12) with teacher
certification, and a physical education concentration
in the Masters of Curriculum and Instruction.
The department is also responsible for the
delivery of the service program required in
the core curriculum. There are six full-time
faculty members, with approximately 85 teacher
education candidates. |

Armstrong Atlantic
State University is a four-year coeducational
senior unit in the University System of Georgia
and has an enrollment of more than 6800 students.
It is located approximately twelve miles south
of the historic district of the city of Savannah
on a modern 268 acre campus. The core mission
of the university is a strong liberal arts
education for all students, and the strategic
directions of the university are applied science
and technology, teacher education, health professions,
and community and economic development. |

and 150 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida.
