| Description: |
Armstrong Atlantic State University invites
applications and nominations for an internal
auditor. The internal auditor will conduct
complex audit projects and review records
for accuracy and conformance to University
System of Georgia, State of Georgia and
professional standards. In addition, the
internal auditor will inspect financial
and operational information to ensure
procedures are correct and appropriate.
He/she will compile audit findings and
recommend revisions to university systems
and procedures. The internal auditor has
dual reporting. He/she will report directly
to the president of the university and
to the Chief Audit Officer of the Board
of Regents of the University System of
Georgia.

| Qualifications: |
Required Qualifications
- Earned baccalaureate degree (minimum)
in accounting and/or business
- Minimum of three years of accounting
and auditing experiences
- Ability to audit financial and operational
aspects of state and federal grants, public-private
capital partnerships, and related transactions
- Evidence of understanding of internal
and external accounting and auditing environments
- Knowledge in the use of specialized
accounting and auditing software
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal
communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Audit experiences within a university
system and/or state government setting
- CPA certification desired
Employment is contingent upon successful
completion of a background investigation.

Armstrong Atlantic
State University is a four-year coeducational
senior unit in the University System of Georgia
and has an enrollment of more than 6800 students.
It is located approximately twelve miles south
of the historic district of the city of Savannah
on a modern 268 acre campus. The core mission
of the university is a strong liberal arts
education for all students, and the strategic
directions of the university are applied science
and technology, teacher education, health professions,
and community and economic development. |

located 250 miles southeast of Atlanta, Georgia
and 150 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida.

In the last decade the city has capitalized
on its diverse manufacturing base, flourishing
tourist industry, and thriving port to become
the economic motor for the region. With a metropolitan
area population of 296,232 and an adjacent
six-county population of 471,000, Savannah
is well-positioned for future growth. The university
campus is 20 miles from sandy beaches, and
only a mile or so from crabbing, shrimping,
and saltwater fishing. |
