Welcome
to the Institutional Work-Study Program (IWSP)
at Armstrong Atlantic State University
READ THIS PAGE THOROUGHLY!
You have been selected to work at AASU through the campus work-study program. Please be aware that there are two types of work-study programs at AASU - the College Work Study Program (CWSP), which is a federally funded program administered through the Financial Aid Office, and the Institutional Work-Study Program (IWSP), an institutionally funded program. PLEASE NOTE: You are participating in the IWSP.
To participate in this program, you must be a full-time student (12 semester hours during the Fall and Spring semesters - 6 semester hours during the Summer semester.) It is your responsibility to notify your department supervisor if your status should change.
During this orientation, you will be required to complete a series of documents, the first being the "Right To Know" training. At the end of the Right to Know session, you will need to complete and print out the online certificate for your packet. This form MUST be turned in with your other forms to Human Resources. You will also receive a copy of AASU's Harassment Policy. You will need to complete and print out an acknowledgment of receipt of the policy. This form MUST be turned in along with your other paperwork, as well.
You will then need to print out all the forms needed to be set up on AASU's payroll system. You will be completing the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form**, a Board of Regent's Security Questionnaire, and W-4 (federal tax) and G-4 (state tax) withholding forms. These forms need to be filled out completely and neatly or the Human Resources office will not accept them! You will also receive an Institutional Work-Study Agreement form. It is very important for you to read and fully understand the terms of this agreement.
**When you bring your completed paperwork to Human Resources, you are required to produce TWO forms of acceptable identification. There is a page in this orientation titled "Lists of Acceptable Documents." You must have the ORIGINAL forms of identification in order to be processed. If you do not have the original forms of identification, Human Resources will not accept your orientation packet.
After you have turned in your completed packet, Human Resources will send you to the Payroll Office where you will be given an initial supply of IWSP timesheets and a copy of the latest timesheet schedule. The IWSP timesheet that you will complete each pay period has very specific instructions on them. Please follow these instructions completely, or your paycheck will be delayed. It is your responsibility to complete your timesheet properly and turn it in to the Payroll Office by the deadline in order to be paid. Payroll is located in Burnett Hall, Room 155. Paychecks are available in your department on the date the checks are released.
As an IWSP employee, you are
considered a temporary employee, and are an important part of the workforce
at AASU.
If you need any assistance or have any questions, please feel free to contact
Human Resources.
Welcome to the AASU family!
